D'Banj, Music and Me

****I have written this post for weeks, not with the intention of publishing it but just to put down my thoughts and Move on but.... oh well....... Update is below. EnJoY!!!

It was good news for the Nigerian Music/Entertainment Industry, Music lovers and most especially the Nigerian born singer and his Producer, D'Banj and DonJazzy when Kanye's own G.O.O.D Music Label signed them on.
Though, rumour has it that they 'paid' their way through as busy bodies claimed they paid something in the range of $10,000 to Snopp Dogg who brought them into the 'international collabo lime light' which ultimately got them the sign-on contract but #IsThatWhyWeAreHere? #MovingOn

Recently, D'Banj dropped a new single titled 'Oliver' aka 'Oliver Twist' which I guess is off his forthcoming album, 'Mr. Endowed' and just like every other music lover, I was happy to have it after so much hype and promo but unfortunately 'O di dan dan, D'Banj needy needy kon-kon' to wash his head and mouth in the river ogun cos this song is just way below Par and in fact it's wack.

I don't even want to believe that some people actually like the oliva song *sighs* talk of ass-kissing and Famzing. DonJazzy has really influenced peoples thinking faculty with that act of tweeting recharge vouchers and also thanks to the Enigma competition which D'Banj could have scanned through and 'steal' some wonderful lines but he didn't :( instead, he (D'Banj), DonJazzy, Kanye (at least na hin label he dey under now) and G.O.O.D music decided to deal with us (listeners of good music) by serving us a song that is just not worthy to be called a song but more of an impromptu display of what I will call Vic'o syndrome.

Someone said I don't understand the Naija Music Market, maybe she's right but I will like to ask if Nonsense is what makes naija music market the leader in the African Music Market and if he D'Banj is still trying to limit himself to the Naija music market instead of focusing on how to penetrate the international music market building on the already established standards of the G.O.O.D Music label.

If you can accept D'Banj's Oliver as Good music, then why do u find it hard to accept TundeEdnut's my Kindda Song and Catching Cold?

Don't get it twisted, I like DonJazzy, he's a G.O.O.D Producer, I like D'Banj, he's a G.O.O.D Entertainer but like @adekunleGOLD said 'Oliver is below D'Banj' #ThatIsAll

Feel free to air your views by using the comment box below and correct me if am wrong but in the meantime, enjoy this tweet
"RT @pesa67: Brand new yimu.. Wetin I don delete since @THEBEAT999FM: Brand New Music: Oliver Twist by D'banj"

****UPDATE: First of all, I guess you all have Facebook or twitter account so you should have probably seen something relating to the oliver video completion, if not Youtube is your friend. Secondly, according to the Vanguard news paper; The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission [NBC] banned and 'advised' all media houses in a circular issued to them to halt the play of the song (Oliver Twist) on radio or TV stations with immediate effect, on the grounds of using “Lewd Lyrics”. He (D'Banj) was said to have mentioned Omotola Jalade's backside in his new song: “I like Omotola, her y*nsh is bigger....." *sighs* Lewd??? see english abi na grammer.... But oh well....
