MI, 7days, Music and Me

Some few days ago when MI tweeted truths about #7days, I actually thought he was talking about a part of the bible and I became anxious when I learnt that he was talking about a song he just released.
My anxiety died and I chose not to download nor listen to the song after reading his blasphemy tweet which stated that "God listened to the song 7days before creating the world in 7days". I mean if you want some cheap hype, why involve the name of the Lord in a blasphemy way?? *in 2face's voice* 'nobody holy pass' but this is just too much to do for a cheap hype but....

Goodbye....

Saying 'Goodbye' is one of the hardest things in life but one way or the other, either we say it or not, there are times we just have to move on leaving some things behind us.

I have always wanted to do this for more than a year now but somehow, I always find myself shying away from the reality of the fact that it was time for me to move on.

Maybe it was due to the fact that there was a point in time when I derived so much happiness and self-satisfying pleasure in doing it, or maybe how sad and lonely I will be without it.

An Interesting Read/Calculation on Fuel Subsidy by Pastor Tunde Bakare

DEFINITION: To subsidise is to sell a product below the cost of production.
Since the Federal Government has been secretive about the state of our refineries and their production capacity, we will focus on importation rather than production. So, in essence, within the Nigerian Fuel Subsidy context, to subsidise is to sell petrol below the cost of importation.
The unsubstantiated claims of the Federal Government: The government claims that Nigerians consume 34 million litres of petrol per day. The government has also said publicly that N141 per litre is the unsubsidised pump price of petrol imported into Nigeria. (N131.70 kobo being the landing price and N9.30 kobo being profit.)

SNG’S PRESS STATEMENT: "NEVER AGAIN!!!" (A Must Read)

TEXT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE BY SNG (Save Nigeria Group) AND ALLIES ON THE CITIZENS ACTION AGAINST CORRUPTION AND BAD GOVERNANCE

TUESDAY 17TH JANUARY, 2012 AT THE SNG SECRETARIAT.

Gentlemen of the Press,
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

(1 minute silence in honour of all our fallen heroes, past and present)

The general strike and citizens action which followed the January 1, 2012 on 117 percent increase in the pump price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) has proved a defining moment in the history of our country and one from which the correct lessons must be learnt and matters arising squarely dealt with in order to deepen our democracy and ensure that our country is never run again in the old way.

Fuel Subsidy: For The Greater Good?

Its no longer news that the Nigeria Federal Governments Subsidy on Petrol has been removed. What's news is the citizens reality of its removal, their actions, rants nd jokes emanating form the removal.

Forgive me for my lack of manners but the issue at hand is one that can 'make' or 'break' a nation. Just like in Libya, it all started with a tweet but I wonder if Nigerians are brave enough to tread the part of Libya.

By this, I don't mean Nigerians are cowards, but somehow, Nigerians have been groomed to believe in the saying 'when there is life, there is hope' and knowing that a protest might end up like that of "Lekki toll-gate" or more still, turn out to be just like every other protest which at the end of the day, the government will employ dialogue with no result to show for it while we all go home and comply.

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?

Sometimes I wonder what life would have been if we had no friends.

Sometime ago, a friend of mine sent this to me. She had no idea of what I was going through but am sure she had me in mind that morning and she decided to send me a message I will like to call "The Relief Package".

I really don't know what you're going through but I felt a strong urge in me to send this your way and I pray it ministers to you and calm you just as it did to me. #GodBlessYou!

A Letter To Nigeria

Dear Nigeria,

How are you and how are your kids? I guess I need not ask after those 'watching' over you ‘cos am sure they will be doing great in their 'bank accounts' both home and abroad.

I know you've gotten and will still get so many letters from the 'who is who' both in and outside the country wishing you happy independence but I hope and wish this little letter of one of your troubled kids get to you.

Today is a day of celebration so I’m not here to remind us of the bad times but after 51 years of chasing the colonial masters out of your life, ARE WE THERE YET???

Mother, in this trying times, we still have smiles on our faces and we still see a need to celebrate you, little wonder why we were tagged the happiest people on earth. I just hope and pray that the bomb of Boko Haram will never get to ‘us’ but we all know that the occupants of a house who’s roof is on fire should never leave the fire fighters to battle with the fire while they are busy having dinner inside that same house.

Why Boys Will Always Be Boys

I write more often than I post and I read more than I write so I tend to get most of my topics from the 'hidden' words in other peoples writings and this post you're about to read is one of such. This is not in anyway a reply to the post but oh! Well.... It has had its own fair share of the draft experience so EnJoY!!!

***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****

This wasn't the story I had in mind but after reading the post 'Her Story' on Kemmiiii's blog, my mind changed, I felt the need to address the saying 'Boys will always be Boys' when it comes to relationships.

Though, I felt pain for the 'Adeleye' tattooed gurl, I felt more pain in my heart when I read the phrase 'Boys will always be Boys', maybe cos that's the part 'I got mentioned' or can it be that gurls will never be gurls??? *now asking Google*

I am not here to tell you the story of how the poor mans wife suddenly became the wife of the rich man or how a gurl dumped her boyfriend for his best friend cos he's richer and commands more resources, neither am I here to tell you how a gurl used black magic on a guy so that he will love her *changes channel from African Magic to Discovery Channel*. All am about is that, the reason 'Boys will always be Boys', is the fact that 'Girls haven't and will never stop being Girls'.

D'Banj, Music and Me

****I have written this post for weeks, not with the intention of publishing it but just to put down my thoughts and Move on but.... oh well....... Update is below. EnJoY!!!

It was good news for the Nigerian Music/Entertainment Industry, Music lovers and most especially the Nigerian born singer and his Producer, D'Banj and DonJazzy when Kanye's own G.O.O.D Music Label signed them on.
Though, rumour has it that they 'paid' their way through as busy bodies claimed they paid something in the range of $10,000 to Snopp Dogg who brought them into the 'international collabo lime light' which ultimately got them the sign-on contract but #IsThatWhyWeAreHere? #MovingOn

Recently, D'Banj dropped a new single titled 'Oliver' aka 'Oliver Twist' which I guess is off his forthcoming album, 'Mr. Endowed' and just like every other music lover, I was happy to have it after so much hype and promo but unfortunately 'O di dan dan, D'Banj needy needy kon-kon' to wash his head and mouth in the river ogun cos this song is just way below Par and in fact it's wack.

Why We Don't Refer To Our Awesome Club As 'ManU'

Some of you should know this and might have come across it on facebook where I posted it some years back. Though, I moved on, I saw a need to revisit it as most Manchester United Fans still call the club 'Man U' which is not meant to be, hence a need to repost it on here for a wilder audience and not just 'my facebook friends'.

Have you ever wonder why the Press and more particularly, the international press and the Barclays Premier League officials never and will never refer to Manchester United as 'Man U' but 'Man UTD'? worry no further, here's the explanation you've been waiting for.

ManU is not a term United fans refer to themselves as.
The term is only used by other supporters as a complete and utter insult to our club. The "u" is meant to be "you" by the rival fans.
An early example of its usage is this chant by West Brom fans: "Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave, man you are manure- rotting in your grave".
The origin of "ManU" is a song to insult the dead Duncan Edwards.

Liverpool and Leeds fans copied this with their own man you /u versions to insult all of the lads who died at munich.

"ManU ManU went on a plane ManU ManU never came back again"

and..

"ManU Never Intended Coming Home"
(if you combine the first letter of each word you get the word "munich").

I hope this makes it clearer that saying 'manU' is an insult, particularly to the older supporters and to see United fans using it now is shameful.

I hope a few might read this, understand and spread the word.
So... Please REFRAIN from using this term ever again!!!!!!!!

Day 30: One Thing Am Excited For

Finally, the last day that we all have been looking forward to is here and it’s the official closing of the ’30 Day Challenge’ even though @SheriphSkills added one more day to it that’s unofficial :p cos I added a day to his also *shrugs* you all will read that on his blog as am going on dry fasting on this blog *now preparing my breaking timetable*

Though am not too sure, I guess this topic is one of my best in this challenge cos right now, am not excited for any other thing but for the fact that I started the race and ended it even in the midst of busy schedules and slow connections. *pops collar*

Just like yesterday, I posted the article for Day 1 which was titled 5 ways to win my heart’, and in it, I welcomed you all to the official lunching of my 30day Challenge, stating that “This is a challenge am not sure am up to (now am sure am more than Mr. Capable) cos its not close to any eating competition neither is it close to any auto-tune competition I know but ‘ebi toba le ni ati n ba omo okunrin’ ……… Yes! That was where you all found me. I know I’ve done something similar to this before, I have gone 30days without blogging *covas face* but can I blog for 30days non-stop?” *open’s face* Yes! We I Can! And Yes! I Did!

This is the official closing of the 30 Day Challenge, it was tough, it was rough, but at the end, it was worth it. You all can drop your popcorn and drink on your sit as you exit the 30 Day Challenge studio through the back door. *THE END*

30 Day Challenge: Day 29

Day 29: 5 Weird Things That I like

Last Card......

The countdown is almost over. We've got just one (1) more day to go and we are done. Don't forget, all last carriers will be going to Ghana for a role in the "We are not a Nigerians" video.

I've heard a lot about the song and I was totally disappointed that a song not worthy to be called a song but a foolish act that lacked 'melody' got so much attention but I'm not surprised either, cos the name 'Nigerians' gave it all that hype and publicity. Our name (Nigerians) dey pull crowd like that

These days, things that seem weird are weird no more. Illuminati is now a Nigerian thing, rioting and looting a UK thing, Black President a US thing and most of all @GbagaunDetector don dey Gbagaun.

In light of the above, the 5 weird things that I like may be weird no more but they include;

  1. Mobile Toilet: Yes! I like mobile toilet and not the DMT mobile toilet o, I mean d potty like ones that you can always put under your car sit and pull out to do your thing even while driving *evil grin* It will make other people keep quiet with their hands over their nose and mouth :p

  2. Spiders: I remember how I used to look for, chase, catch and keep spiders in transparent containers when I was a kid. I still like them thou but a part of me do tell me that no matter how many I catch and how much I try, I will still be very far from being a Spiderman *sobs*

  3. The tears in the eyes when the ear fail to heed to warning/advice: some people call it “had I known” but it always tickle a strange part of me that makes me feel kindda happy.

  4. Lion: if there's any pet I love to have, it’s a lion; very gentle, brave and strong with eyes for little details.

  5. Loneliness: they say its weird but I think it’s the best thing anybody can have. Spending time all alone gives you the opportunity to know yourself better, revisit your dreams and order your path in the direction you want it to be.

*singing* now that the day is over, tomorrow is drawing near, shadows of 30days challenge, will soon fade away…………..

30 Day Challenge: Day 28

Day 28: Somewhere I’d Like to Visit

Like I said in the post before this; “For the next few days, my post will be short and precise. I’ve got hustles to keep up with, money to make, family and friends to attend to and health to take care of”.

We all want to go toParis, we want to visit the Disney land, we want to go see the Egyptian Mummy, we want to visit the Ibadan Zoo and some of us will like to visit our home town.

I also want to visit my villa, I want to visit my granny’s hood, I want to know if Nollywood has been showing us the true village scene where no one seem to wear slippers not to talk of shoes, I want to go to the early morning stream when beautiful village gurls are having their bath, I want to feel like a local champion but most of all *covas face* I want to go to Las Vegas!!

Yeah! Am so happy to be in Las Gidi where hustling is the order of the day but still I want to go to Las Gidi’s sister city, Las Vegas where ‘gbogbo aye + fajii’ is in the air.

Don’t blame it on the alcohol cos there’s none in the system but blame it on the media for promoting the ‘sin city

30 Day Challenge: Day 27

Day 27: A Quote I Try to Live By

****This is one of the reasons why I don’t like blogging with my phone. I ended up saving this as draft yesterday instead of publishing. Now the 30 day challenge seem to be missing one day but *Shrugs* dem no dey pay me joor.

For the next few days, my post will be short and precise. I’ve got hustles to keep up with, money to make, family and friends to attend to and health to take care of. I started blogging cos I love writing and I started writing based on my own ‘Principles’. I make my own writing rules and I don’t care what the so called ‘standards’ are. If they can’t keep up with mine, then they are on a very long thing.

There’s this quote I have always tried my best to live by and it’s from no other person than a trusted journalist. Dele Giwa is a man who lived and died for the truth. I won’t go into details of how he was killed by a ‘letter bomb’ during the time of IBB or how Soyinka was said to have been in that same room with him and yet survived a bomb that affected the AC unit and burglary of that room.

I’m not here to rant over his death or anyone’s involvement, am here to let you in on this saying which I came across/ heard when I was a kid and I have made up my mind to do just exactly what the quote says or at worst, I will rather hold my peace, keep quiet and make no comment than to give account of what is not.

This quote is one of the greatest I have ever heard in my entire life and it takes nothing but boldness and a clean heart to say this;
I will rather say the truth and die than fail to say the truth and sell my conscience ---- Dele Giwa

30 Day Challenge: Day 26

Day 26: Things I like and Dislike about Myself

The countdown is still on and its 4 days more. You all should get prepared as all those who have supported us these far, either by Sharing, ReTweeting, Commenting, Subscribing and Visiting our page will definitely be rewarded. Did I hear someone say 'with what?' Just hold on a minute, hem…. Go grab the list of topics and start your own 30Day Challenge *RME* Gala and Lacasera for first comment while 'purewater' and kulikuli for Last carrier.

Writing about me is almost same as writing about my body which I've done on Day 13, so doing this again is like taking a cup of Sprite mixed with Maltina.

Writing about things I like and dislike about myself can be confusing as I can't really figure out what and what they are but I will try not to confuse you as things I seem to like about myself are also things I kindda dislike about myself which may not be so and they include but not limited to;

Ability to make friends easily which I really love but don't like that aspect of managing too many friends. I currently have over a thousand friends if not over 2000 and the list is still growing. Yeah! I may not ping or call you for awhile, which is annoying, frustrating and kindda put the kind of friend I am on question but I will always make sure that the memory of the little time we spend together will always remain in your heart.
Am a great ‘Famzer’: Yeah! I’m a great farmer. I remember how I used to plant and harvest corns back then inMayflower School. The cutting of grass, climbing of tress and most especially the ‘What time is it’ sabotage time.

'Famzing' is quiet interesting especially when you’re doing it with the right set of people but some peeps can make you look like a fool and before you know it, your mention is in twit-jail.

*in 2face’s voice* I no send, I no send.

Now we’ve come to the end of today’s post. Kindly use the comment box below to state what you like or dislike about me. *in Ruggedman’s voice* Yes! I no be cofi cofi and I no too dey cofi cofi but *in MI’s voice* Tell me, who is perfect?

30 Day Challenge: Day 25

Day 25: Something I Am Currently Worrying About

There is definitely someone out there ready to share my worries with me or how best will I explain this topic? But as far as am concerned, my worries are my thoughts and they are definitely worth more than a penny *raised eyebrow*

The countdown has begun, just 5 days more. It’s really been an interesting and a challenging challenge (Yes! Am clever like cleverly like that). Shoot me if you can: p

These were the few lines I was able to put up in the morning before the days task began *sighs* its 11:39pm now and I hope I will be able to post this before the day is officially over.

When I saw today's topic 'Something I Am Currently Worrying About', I didn't know what to write but some few hours back, Glo gave me what to write on. I won't want to rant on here but I am currently worrying about the wrongful deduction of over 1,000 naira from my phone account balance.

I have called their customer care line plus a mail in their box. Fingers crossed, them go make amends!
As at this morning, I had over a thousand naira in my phone account and after a 25secs call and ‘battery too low for radio use’, I was forced to go off mobile communication till later this evening after charging the battery but unfortunately, I tried calling and it won't connect, saying account too low. I check my balance and oya mi lenu gan my balance was quoted as 0.00 naira. Choi! After calling customer care help desk for like 4 or 5 times, it was revealed that a total of =N=1,19.54k was removed from my account based on what they termed as Glo secure.
E dey pain me gan as I dey type this post. I can't even make that very important call I need to make now and am even scared of loading as hidden charges fit don sheyle or is it negative billing wey fit dey wait me make I recharge so them go fit tif am. This is not the first but it will surely be the last. 1,000 just like that? Ko possible mehn!

If to say na UK i dey now, I will be with my solicitor planning on the next move and probably heading to court as I have been psychologically tortured and demoralised. My business and other private affairs plus my love life have also been badly affected as they were the worst hit after the news left me psychologically imbalanced.

You say? How will I forget it? I won't be #MovingOn on this as I need to get my credit back.

30 Day Challenge: Day 24

Day 24: Five (5) Words/ Phrases That Makes Me Laugh

Laugh (Comedy) business is serious business and whoever will make me laugh will have to do it with food and undivided attention.

Its not so easy for me to laugh at same joke(s) over and over again but its very easy for me to laugh on same table over and over again.

A wise man once said 'The way to a man's heart is through his tummy' true talk. On that note, here are the 5 words or phrases that makes me laugh.

    1) Food is ready

    2) Joke(s) of an elder, especially if the person is someone I respect a lot. Even if e no funny, I go fake am

3)'oro ti ologbon ba so, enu ashiwere lati n gbo'. I won't be the one to translate this for you. AXE your mummy or phone a friend

    4) No one deceives himself/herself like Dada's mum, claiming she has never seen the hair on a mad man's head. What of dada's hair?

    5) Food is ready

Though my day was spent at an 'Owambe' centre and its already past my bed time, I no fit carry this post over as I don carry that meat over as e Big die, Strong kaka-raka like Zuma Rock but not Reliable cos e fit stain my white shirt.

Special SHOUTOUT to Lizzy for the encouragement. I guess I can now go back to bed.

30 Day Challenge: Day 23

Day 23: Something That I Miss

It all started like a joke. The picture came like a flash 'as e no spend pass 2 or 3mins' on her avatar, my attention was drawn to it but while others were busy checking it out, I went that extra mile to make it my 'avatar of the day' and that was how no fine female picture could pass me by without chilling on my twitter avatar. Then I started receiving DMs (Direct Messages) from guys about how fine I was, how lovely am meant to be treated and how they will like to know more about me and possibly hangout with me. It was all fun at the start but later became embarrassing as every Tom, Dick and Harry seem to know the path leading to my DM.
In a state of confusion, I checked the mirror only to realize that I’ve got those female qualities, wow! Where has my balls disappeared to? I mean who uprooted my pole and drilled a hole right there? I couldn't believe it, I tried to pinch myself but I couldn't feel it, so I ran into the room to get dressed but guess what! Right inside my closet were series of skirts, fitted jeans, mono-strap tops and short dresses. I have always dreamt of wearing skirt and I had worn one for my MBA graduation, thanks to the Scottish Kilt. Without wasting any more time, I wore one of the pencil skirts and while I was trying to wear a top.... Knock! Knock!! Knock!!!.... I rushed down the stairs to check who it was and Standing at the door was this hansom young man who called his name Joe. He claimed to be on routine checks and he was to check the plumbing works in the house in order to ensure that there was no leakage. I allowed him in and headed back to my room where I pulled off and tried a short dress. This time, the mirror wasn't enough and like a teenager who has just heard the sex experience of another teenager, I felt 'lust' in the dress. I went down the stairs right to the kitchen where Joe was checking the hot water pipe. I pretended to hurt my feet and tried to feel my toe knowing that the dress will be somewhere hanging just a little bit below my bum but.....'Breeze don blow, flow yansh don open'
I noticed Joe smile and said 'nice dress', I smiled back and was quick to add that am a virgin and I don't even have a boyfriend. He said something into my ear, then all of a sudden, as if my whole world came crashing, I felt something hot inside of me. It was after about 15mins that I heard Joe announce his departure, he told me to use my pills and left.
I looked at my calendar then I realized it’s been 3months I saw Joe. It was then that the words of the GP made sense but all the same, it was hard to believe I did it just once, just once and am pregnant. My period must be such a coward, where can it be hiding?.... *some words are missing* I heard my name and........ The End.
I got up from the bed, checked the mirror and am a man again #okbye

Note: If it’s disjointed and doesn't make sense, blame it on a stressful day plus hunger and please be my editor. Thanks!
