30 Day Challenge: Day 20

Day 20: My Fears

A Yoruba adage says ‘ti owo eni oba te eku ida, koni bere iku to pa baba owun’. For the non-Yorubas, please AXE your Yoruba friends and, except if your name is Adebayo Faleti or related to him, you will probably fail the translation of this adage. Please don’t ask me,  my name is not Google.

Putting a little light on this adage as I'm vast in Yoruba like that, am Ex-phobic, meaning I have overcome my fears and without being above my fears, I will probably not be able to talk about them for fear of fearlophobia meaning the fear of fears. You can add that to your list of phobias cos am Wole Shoyinka like that and my afro can testify.

Before going into details about my former fears, I will like to state clearly that am not a doctor and I won’t be responsible for any sudden discovery of fears but if you want to know more about fears, follow @SuperKunle on twitter, he is the twitPhobia doctor and I will like to say a big SHOUT-OUT to him for making this post possible. *now playing PSquare’s Possibility*

NOTE: The fears listed below were mine but they are now no more. Anyone you notice or may have noticed in me is or was as a result of the side you’ve chosen to see or relate with and not the real me. * dodges potatoes* :p

Now the fears;

Ablutophobia: This is the fear of washing or bathing. This is common among boarding house students and as I was one sometime ago, I caught the fear but when I started giving those ‘HUGS’ *sighs* oh well..... #MovingOn

Somniphobia: This is the fear of sleep. Instead of sleeping, I will rather play game or tweet. Maybe am scared that twitter will steal my tweets again or maybe it will be my followers this time, or can it be the fear of skylolo’s gyming rat?  Little wonder why iRep #TeamNoSleep.

Agoraphobia: This is the fear of being in crowded or public places. It’s simply the fear of crowds. Anytime I see crowds, they always look like burgers, hotdogs, donuts or subway, they always make me hungry. >:O

Cacophobia: aka fear of ugliness.  This is the best discovery of all fears  ‘the fear of worwo is the beginning of beauty’. I guess this states why I know ‘phyne gurls’ <---- Subnoni

Caligynephobia: Fear of beautiful women. I just want to state that I DON’T HAVE THIS FEAR AND I CAN NEVER HAVE IT. *straight face*

Telephonophobia: This is one of my greatest fears and it’s the fear of telephones. Most of them are small, comes in small packages, with small batteries and micro-sim cards yet they travel faster than the wind without leaving the hand. Winch things. They get all the attentions and we panic when our phone fall but laugh when our friends fall.

Electrophobia: The fear of electricity. This is very common among the Nigerian citizens to the extent that they travel abroad and switch-off all the light in their rented apartment. ‘ajo ole dabi ile’ Nigerians abroad fit make anywhere look very much like home as they prefer to live in darkness. Thanks to almighty NEPA (Never Expect Power Always) aka PHCN (Power 'HOLDING' Company of Nigeria).

Tell a friend about Electrophobia today; buy a gen iPassMyNeighbor or candle and #LightUpNigeria
